LaCreta, So good to her from you too! I know that my mother will be pleased to know that you enjoyed seeing her, as she enjoyed seeing you and the others. She especially enjoyed being brought on the arm of the one and only Bobby Hutto and it made her day that he whisked her off, unbeknownst by her or me, until the moment they arrived at the AHS Class of 1957 Reunion. Since Bobby's mom is gone now, he has adopted my mother as his mama until we all meet again in Heaven, and she loves every minute of it.

Barbara and TRC, it was good to see that you two had checked in. Babs, one of the nicest experiences at the reunion was seeing your mom! I guess many of you read and saw news about the ice storm here in Tulsa. But, we also were hit by a rocket on Wednesday night. http://www.tulsaworld.com/news/article.aspx?articleID=20080314_1__Arock56356 A National Guard pilot thought he had released a dummy warhead BDU-33 over a Kansas field, but it wound up in an apartment complex about 4 miles from where I live. No one was injured--it tore through someone's bathroom and wound up in the electrical utitity room of the complex. Lots of jokes about in in the message boards of the Tulsa newspaper.

Garry, I suspect that some of us are either dodging tornadoes, or trying to stay warm during these long winter months. I have been intending to write and wish you all another happy, healthy, year in 2008 and to say that it was so nice seeing you at the reunion in October. I am well and my family is well at the present moment, the sun is shining, and life is good. Have a happy day and a happy year.

I finally heard from Jerry Lyles today. He said he is fine and the closest fires to him were about 3 miles away. He's leaving today for a 7 day cruise to the Mexican Riviera. (I don't feel sorry for Jerry anymore)

I noticed I had the wrong zip address. It is .net not .com. I'm sorry for the mistake. I know Susan and Charlote would like to have a get together again in Californiia but that is to far for me. I loved being in Amarillo I miss it so much and all my friends there. Three days was just not enough time to see and do all I wanted to do.

WOW! What a terrific reunion! Thanks to all the Amarillo folks for all your work and planning (and for the FOOD, of course!), to Sully, Critter, Beavers, and John King for the book & DVD work, and to all of you who came and were so friendly and gracious to me. And, I repeat, if I messed up typing your bio, mea culpa. Maybe we can get Gene to correct my bio typos on the website!

I was able to get to most of the reunion and see many old friends and get acquainted with some others that I did not run with in high school. It was wonderful. I am so thankful to have graduated with a class that is so friendly and helpful to everyone. The reunion was a smash!! Kudos to all who worked so hard to make this possible.

We had a super reunion. There were a lot of smiles and laughs. There were a few tears as we remembered our friends who are gone. We missed those who couldn't come back for the reunion. We'll have a Sandie Alumni reunion in 2009 for all '50th' grads. Maybe those who couldn't for this one can come for that one. Take care, everyone.

I agree with you to abandon the Smashface and the Crossword pages. Let's hear from others to see who's interested!

I think it would be a neat idea to start a new page on this website that would salute couples in the Class of '57 that have made it through 50 years of marriage to the same spouse. We have class members that have or soon will obtain this milestone and it would be nice if the whole class could celebrate this special event with them. I believe we could well give up "Smash a Face" or the "Crossword" and have this a page called the AHS Cl '57 Golden Sandstorm Anniversaries or something similar. I think it would be well worth the effort and I'd appreciate getting class support to start the page. Regards

Yeah, Sure Bill we all look the same. There will be a few with subtle body shifts and a lot of men including myself are in vogue now with the bald as a billard ball look. If I were you I wouldn't waste a whole lot of time looking the the '57 year book.

I am so sorry to hear that Gail Moore has lost her husband and her mother. Many of us have known Gail from the first grade at the Wolflin school. Such a beautiful child she was and I remember her mom also and she too was a such beautiful lady. It is also sad to hear that Thelton Davis has passed away. He came to my 13th birthday party and was the life of the party. To this day, my mother and my uncle still remember the antics of Thelton at that party and it brings a smile to their face. I had not intended on writing another message on the website because I was hoping that many others whom we have not heard from would decide to write messages and fill these pages, but I just couldn't let this go by without acknowledging Gail's loss and the loss of Thelton. We're not getting any younger you all, and it would be great to hear from you on this guestbook, but if not, I hope to see you at the reunion.

The sight is great and looking good. BUT! What has happened to the Yak! Yak! sight. It would be really super if we could slip in a Sandie place of gathering and able to talk with each other. So much has happened since TRC's sight went down. The guestbook is not what we need. How many of you know that Thelton Davis has passed on.. or Gail Moore has lost her mother and husband and has tried to reach us?? Let us put in a message board to use and keep this one for what it was intended for. Hello you old Sandies, so far I am looking forward to shaking hands with all the men and looking forward to beating Bob Barker in kisses.

I hope that all of you are planning to attend the fantastic 50th in October. We have all grown up, grown out, and our hair styles have changed. Our very lives have changed, but somewhere inside of each of us is a young person who grew up in Amarillo, Texas. To me that is a real bond and a reason to see you all just one more time. Many thanks to Larry and Gene for the website and to those of you who are working so tirelessly to make the reunion enjoyable. I am making every effort to attend the reunion and hope to see you there!

Thanks to Larry and Gene, we have another way to communicate before our reunion in October. I'm looking for our classmates who attended Forest Hill, Humphrey's Highland, Summit and Avondale Elementary Schools. I just recently heard about Johnson Elementary School, that I didn't know existed. Daryl Conger said he went there until the 3rd grade. If anyone can send me the names of '57 Sandies who attended those schools, I'd appreciate it. LaCreta
